Former King Gyanendra Shah returned to Kathmandu on Friday after staying in Jhapa for a long time.
He was welcomed by a large number of supporters at Tribhuvan International Airport. Many people gathered outside the main gate of the airport to greet him.
Even though the local administration had imposed a prohibitory order in the airport area, pro-monarchy supporters still showed up in large numbers. They were seen chanting slogans in support of the monarchy.
Gyanendra Shah arrived in Kathmandu from Jhapa by helicopter.
