Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Thursday visited Solukhumbu and Bhojpur districts to review election preparations and assess the ground situation ahead of the upcoming polls.

 

In Solukhumbu, she held discussions with local residents and officials in Namche and Salleri. At a meeting organized at the District Coordination Committee office in Salleri, Chief Returning Officer Chandra Kumar Pokharel and Chief District Officer Leela Kumari KC Pande briefed her on the status of preparations. Security officials, including representatives of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, were also present.

 

Officials informed the Prime Minister that the district remains peaceful, with no security threats or adverse weather conditions reported so far. Based on past records, snowfall in the month of Falgun has been rare, though contingency plans may be required in high Himalayan areas if needed.

 

Expressing satisfaction with the progress, Prime Minister Karki said the upcoming election, scheduled for Falgun 21, must be conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner. She emphasized the need for special preparation given the circumstances and called for maximum voter participation across the country.

 

Following her visit to Solukhumbu, the Prime Minister traveled to Bhojpur, where she met with Chief Returning Officer and District Judge Narayan Prasad Dahal and district security chiefs to review election readiness and security arrangements.
