Pakistan has strongly objected to India's attempt to blame it for a recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which is controlled by India.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif condemned the killing of more than 26 Hindus and said that Pakistan always rejects such violent acts.
He said the attack in Pahalgam was not linked to Pakistan, but was caused by internal problems in India. In a TV interview, Asif made it clear that Pakistan had no role in the incident.
He said there are many rebel groups inside India — from Nagaland to Kashmir, Chhattisgarh to Manipur, and even in the south. He called the attack a result of India’s own internal unrest, not something caused by outsiders.
Asif also accused India of blaming Pakistan to cover up its own actions. He said India often uses its army and police to suppress its own citizens, and when these people fight back, India blames Pakistan.
He added that people in India are speaking up for their rights. He said Hindu nationalist groups are increasing violence and pressure on minorities like Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists, which is causing such incidents.
The Pakistani Defense Minister said Pakistan is against all types of terrorism but cannot do anything about the terrorism happening inside India.
