The House of Representatives could not proceed with its scheduled business today as opposition parties continued their protest, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over the visit visa scandal.

For the past two weeks, opposition lawmakers have been disrupting House sessions, insisting that the Home Minister step down. As soon as today’s meeting began, opposition members, including those from the CPN (Maoist Center), stood up in protest, refusing to let the session move forward.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire requested lawmakers to cooperate and allow the House to function, but the protests continued, forcing the session to end without addressing any agenda. Multiple meetings between the ruling and opposition parties have been held to resolve the issue, but no agreement has been reached yet. The next House meeting is now scheduled for 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 12.
