NEPSE Rises Nearly 29 Points as Market Closes Strong on Monday

The stock market had a strong day on Monday, with all indices ending higher. The main NEPSE index increased by 28.73 points and closed at 2,639.37.

The market stayed positive throughout the day. Share prices of 214 companies went up, while 37 companies saw a drop and eight remained unchanged.

Trading activity also increased. The total trading amount reached Rs 6.47 billion on Monday, up from Rs 5.01 billion on Sunday.

The Manufacturing and Processing sector recorded the highest growth, rising by 3.05 percent. All other sectors also closed in the green. The Banking index went up by 0.65 percent, Development Bank by 2.70 percent, Finance by 0.83 percent, and Hotels and Tourism by 2.53 percent.

Other sectors also gained. Hydropower rose by 1.44 percent, Investment by 1.23 percent, Life Insurance by 0.49 percent, Microfinance by 0.53 percent, Non-life Insurance by 0.42 percent, Others by 0.78 percent, and the Trading index increased slightly by 0.22 percent.
