NEPSE Rises 13.51 Points to Close at 2,812, Hydropower Leads Gains

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 13.51 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,812.34 points.

The market opened at 2,798.83 points and gained slightly during the pre-opening session. In the first 11 minutes, it climbed to 2,807.86 points, but then dropped to the day’s lowest point of 2,788.03 within the next 20 minutes. The market remained volatile throughout the day, but in the final 25 minutes, it surged by around 13 points before closing.

Looking at sectors, six sectors gained while seven declined. The hydropower sector recorded the highest rise, increasing by 59.98 points. On the other hand, the life insurance sector saw the biggest drop, falling by 42.56 points.

The sensitive index, which tracks ‘A’ class companies, increased by 2.14 points. Daily turnover also rose slightly to Rs 12.03 billion, compared to Rs 11.97 billion the previous day.

Among individual companies, 132 gained while 113 declined. Ridi Power Company Limited recorded the highest turnover, with shares worth Rs 563.76 million traded.

Reliance Spinning Mills and Solu Hydropower Limited were the top gainers of the day, while NIC Asia Growth Fund-2 recorded the highest loss, declining by 4.74 percent.
