The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a strong upswing on Monday, rising by 50.44 points to close at 2,650.66. The market stayed positive throughout the session, supported by increased trading activity.
Turnover climbed to Rs 7.03 billion, up from Rs 6.28 billion the previous day, reflecting growing investor confidence. Out of 258 listed companies, 215 saw their share prices rise, 37 declined, and 6 remained unchanged.
All sectoral indices finished in the green, with life insurance stocks leading the market rally with a 4.94% surge. Non-life insurance gained 2.99%, banking advanced 1.40%, and development banks rose 1.21%.
Other sectors also posted notable gains: finance (1.42%), hotels and tourism (2.24%), hydropower (0.80%), investment (1.83%), manufacturing and processing (1.64%), microfinance (1.93%), others (1.68%), and trading (0.76%).
Monday’s broad-based rise signals sustained buying momentum and improving sentiment across major segments of the market.
