NEPSE Edges Down Slightly; Three Stocks Hit Positive Circuit

The NEPSE index closed lower on Monday, losing 5.80 points to settle at 2,560.29, following a sharper drop of 30.02 points on Sunday. The decline in the index was accompanied by reduced trading volume compared to the previous day.

 

A total of 327 scripts were traded, with 8,647,889 shares changing hands, valued at NPR 451.44 crore. On Sunday, the total turnover was NPR 490 crore.

 

Despite the overall market decline, three companies, Dharmkhola Hydro Energy, Sagar Distillery, and Bunglal Hydropower hit the positive circuit limit. Mavilung Energy’s shares surged 9.98%, while City Hotel rose by 9.94%. On the other hand, investors in Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Financial Institution saw significant losses.

 

Based on trading volume, NRN Infrastructure and Development led the market, with shares worth NPR 48 crore changing hands. Other notable movers included Union Hydropower (NPR 25 crore), Sadhi Electricity (NPR 17 crore), and Shivam Cement (NPR 15 crore).

 

Among all traded stocks, 90 gained, 151 declined, and 11 remained unchanged. Sector-wise, all indices except for Hotels & Tourism, Investment, and Trading showed negative performance.

 

 

The market activity reflects cautious investor sentiment as some major companies continue to perform well despite broader declines.
