The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) had a positive day on Tuesday, gaining 17.80 points, which marked a 0.64% increase. The benchmark index closed at 2,775.85 points by the end of trading. However, there was mixed performance among different sectors. The Sensitive Index, which tracks the performance of class 'A' stocks, saw a small decline of 0.12%. On the other hand, the Float Index, which tracks actively traded shares, went up by 0.20%.
The total turnover for the day reached Rs. 8.521 billion, with a total of 18,160,634 shares traded. This involved 307 companies, resulting in 88,775 transactions. The market was somewhat volatile, with only six sectors showing positive growth. The Trading sector saw the biggest gain, rising by 5.96%. Other sectors that performed well included Hydropower (up 1.85%), Life Insurance (up 1.52%), and Finance (up 1.39%).
The Hotels and Tourism sector, however, faced the biggest decline, dropping by 1.71%. Among individual companies, Dibyashwori Hydropower Ltd. (DHPL) and Ingwa Hydropower Ltd. (IHL) both saw their share prices increase by 10%.
