New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters met Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today (May 29) in Baluwatar.
They discussed ways to strengthen ties between the two countries and agreed to work together in agriculture, tourism, education, trade and investment.
PM Oli said his government is focused on stability, development and the goal of a “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.”
Peters praised Nepal’s progress and said small countries should support each other in global forums.
Officials from Nepal’s Foreign Ministry also joined the meeting. The strong bond between Nepal and New Zealand began with the first Everest climb by Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary in May 29, 1953.
