Navaraj Suvedi, coordinator of the Joint Movement Committee for the Restoration of Constitutional Monarchy and the Hindu Kingdom, has expressed solidarity with the ongoing protest for the release of Rabindra Mishra, senior vice-president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and several others, who are behind bars for their alleged roles in the incidents of arson, looting and deaths that occurred during the March 28 protest of pro-royalist forces in Tinkune and Koteshwor.

Suvedi reached Jawalakhel, Lalitpur on Saturday to express his support for a group of local people that has been staging a relay hunger strike for two days, seeking an unconditional release of Mishra, describing them as prisoners of conscience and their arrest as a violation of human rights. Their other demands include restoration of Nepal as a Hindu kingdom with constitutional monarchy.

The protesters also paid tributes to journalist Suresh Rajak and transport worker Sabin Maharjan, who lost their lives in suspicious circumstances during the protests at Tinkune and Koteshwor.
They said their protest will continue unless and until the government releases the "prisoners framed on false charges".
