Four Parliamentary Committees Convene Today to Discuss Key National Issues

Today (May 4), four committees of the Federal Parliament are meeting at Singha Durbar to discuss various matters. 

The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will meet at 10:30 AM to talk with officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Forests, Energy, Land and Finance. They will focus on issues related to the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Modernization Project, such as irrigation, fertilizer supply, sugarcane farming, use of technology in agriculture, subsidies and the marketing of farm products. 

At 11:30 AM, the International Relations and Tourism Committee will hold an internal meeting to review and discuss its annual report. At the same time, the Finance Committee will gather in its meeting room to consult with experts about proposed changes to the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2017. 

Later, at 1:30 PM, the Public Accounts Committee will review the draft of its 23rd report, discuss the findings from the Pokhara Airport On-Site Study Sub-Committee, and evaluate how complaints and grievances are being addressed.
