Community and government school teachers across Nepal have intensified their protest in Kathmandu, demanding the enactment of the School Education Bill that has been pending for long in the Federal Parliament.

Meanwhile, the Nepal Teachers’ Federation, which is leading the protest and represents around 400,000 teachers and staff, has strongly objected to the National Examination Board's decision to conduct Grade XII exams from April 24. Over 511,000 students are scheduled to take the exams through 1,590 centers. However, uncertainty looms as both students and parents remain concerned about the impact of the ongoing strike.

NTF leaders have made it clear that they will not participate in exam duties or answer sheet evaluations if their demands are ignored. “The government is trying to bypass teachers and run the education system without us,” said deputy chairperson of the NTF, Nanu Maya Parajuli. “This is an insult, and we will not accept it.” She stated, “If the government tries to bypass us, we will not stay silent. This protest will not stop without real change.”
