Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has said that the government’s top priority is providing relief and rebuilding flood and landslide-affected areas in Ilam.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising stated that the government is committed to both immediate relief and long-term reconstruction for citizens affected by recent floods and landslides in Ilam.
During a field inspection on Saturday, Minister Ghising said, “The government stands with the affected citizens. Immediate relief efforts are underway, and reconstruction will follow.”
He visited flood-hit areas including Rong Rural Municipality, Suryodaya Municipality, and Ilam Municipality-10, Rajduwali, to assess damage and gather information from locals. Ghising also observed damaged roads and structures, such as Rajduwali Road and Mil Ghumti.
Following the devastating rains, which caused heavy loss of life and property, the government declared Ilam a crisis-hit zone for three months. So far, 39 people have been confirmed dead due to floods and landslides in the district.
