Light Rain and Snowfall Likely in Several Provinces Today

Nepal is currently under the partial influence of a western low-pressure system, along with high pressure in the upper atmosphere and low pressure in the lower atmosphere in the eastern region.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather this afternoon will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas, including Koshi Province. Other parts of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province. Similar conditions may also occur in the hilly regions of Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province.

Light rain is also possible at one or two places in the Tarai areas of Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.

Tonight, the weather will likely remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province, while other parts of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

The department also said there is a chance of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in these areas tonight.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has advised the public and travelers to stay careful while driving or traveling in places where rain or snowfall is expected.
