Liberal Party Leader Carney Appointed as Canada's Prime Minister

In Canada, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mark Carney, has become the new Prime Minister. According to BBC, he will take the oath for his new journey as Prime Minister in a few days. Before this, Justin Trudeau was appointed as the Prime Minister from the same party. Mark Carney is also a former head of the central banks of both the UK and Canada. For this election, he secured the position after competing against three rivals. Reports also mention that Mark Carney has expressed his commitment to leading the party in the general election scheduled for October.

Trudeau, who announced his resignation in January after a nine-year tenure, faced increasing pressure from within his own party to step down. Furthermore, Mark Carney has stated that his country has recently been facing many difficult situations. Additionally, while addressing American President Donald Trump, Carney stated that Canada would continue imposing vindictive tariffs on American goods until the US showed respect towards Canada.
