Tensions have risen within the CPN (Unified Socialist) after leader Ram Kumari Jhakri publicly called for leadership change during a Youth Union event in Lumbini on June 28.
Following her remarks, media reports claimed the party sought clarification from her. However, speaking to reporters outside the party’s central office in Aloknagar on Thursday, Jhakri said, “I haven’t received any official letter. It seems some leaders are using the media instead.”
She criticized the leadership for threatening disciplinary action publicly, despite directing members not to speak on internal matters. “I stayed silent, but those who made the rule are now speaking aggressively on TV,” she added.
Jhakri also accused senior leaders of making personal and body-shaming remarks. She submitted a formal request to speak at the secretariat meeting to clarify her statement.
She urged the party to handle internal issues respectfully and through proper channels.
