Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak Reviews Security and Disaster Preparedness in Baitadi

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who is currently on a three-day visit to his home district Baitadi, visited the District Administration Office today to assess the overall situation of peace, security, and disaster management in the region.

During his visit, Minister Lekhak held discussions with the Chief District Officer and other concerned officials. He was given a detailed briefing on the district’s current security status, emergency response plans, and ongoing efforts in disaster risk reduction. The Minister expressed his concerns about potential natural disasters during the monsoon season and emphasized the need for strong preparedness and immediate response mechanisms.

According to Baitadi’s Chief District Officer Punyabikram Paudel, Minister Lekhak directed local authorities to work with urgency and leave no room for negligence when it comes to public safety and disaster readiness. He stressed the importance of coordination among all security and rescue agencies to ensure the safety of the people.

Apart from official meetings, Minister Lekhak’s visit also includes personal and political engagements. As a native of Baitadi, he is scheduled to meet with local leaders, community members, and also offer prayers at the renowned Tripura Sundari Temple, reflecting both his personal and cultural ties to the district.
