Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narasingha KC has sharply criticized the party’s disciplinary committee, calling its actions biased and irresponsible. Speaking at the central committee meeting, he warned that if arbitrary decisions continue, he may go on a hunger strike.

“The committee must be transparent and fair. Right now, it’s acting without regard for dignity or rules,” KC said, holding the party president accountable for the situation.

He also expressed concern over growing public distrust in traditional parties. “People think old parties don’t work anymore. If we ignore this, the future will be difficult,” he warned.

Blaming internal factionalism for weakening the Congress, he stressed the need for institutional unity. “The party is divided into power centres. It must be institution-oriented, not personality-driven,” he added.

KC also demanded that the party set a date for its next general convention. “We keep hearing it will happen on time, but no date has been fixed. In my view, it must take place within 2082 BS to protect the party’s legitimacy,” he said.

He warned that if one group tries to suppress another through unfair means, there will be strong resistance. “If the limits are crossed, we’ll be forced to act too,” he cautioned.
