The Ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel has been approved by the Israel government and is set to begin on Sunday. The agreement, facilitated by Qatar, the US, and Egypt, aims to bring a temporary halt to the violence and provide a framework for releasing hostages and delivering aid.

Under the agreement, Hamas will release 33 Israeli hostages, including women, children, and elderly individuals, in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. Israeli forces will withdraw from densely populated areas in Gaza. Additionally, hundreds of aid trucks carrying food, medicine, and other essentials will be allowed into Gaza each day.

The deal is set to unfold in three stages. In the first phase, Hamas will release 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. These hostages include women, children, the elderly, and some soldiers.

In second phase, discussions will begin on the 16th day, focusing on releasing more hostages, complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, and a return to calm.

The third and final phase will involve rebuilding Gaza, a process that is expected to take years, while ensuring the return of any hostages or their remains. For Gaza, the agreement provides a lifeline after months of devastating conflict losing over 46000 life, since the fight began in 2023.

As the first hostages are expected to be released on Sunday, many are hopeful but wary. The success of this fragile deal depends on all parties fulfilling their commitments, ensuring that the violence ends, the hostages return, and Gaza begins the long road to recovery.
