Kathmandu — The Nepal Insurance Authority has instructed all insurance companies and their branch offices to resume full operations from today, following the lifting of curfews and prohibitory orders imposed after last week’s unrest.
The Authority has also called on insurers to ease and fast-track the payment of claims for damages caused during the violent protests of September 8 and 9, which left parts of Kathmandu Valley and other regions across the country severely affected.
Officials said that restoring regular office operations will not only help speed up compensation for victims of vandalism and arson but also rebuild public confidence in the insurance sector.
The Authority emphasized that insurance companies should operate at full capacity to address pending claims and ensure smooth services to their clients.
