The Indian Army carried out airstrikes in Pakistan last night. Seven people, including two children, were killed in the attack.
The airstrike, named "Operation Sindoor," targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan, according to Indian media reports. The Indian military stated that Pakistani military establishments were not targeted.
This attack follows a terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Kashmir on April 22, where 26 tourists, including a Nepali, were killed. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the incident.
The relationship between India and Pakistan has further worsened after this attack. Kashmir has seen ongoing unrest for decades, with thousands losing their lives. Both India and Pakistan claim Kashmir as part of their territory.
India's Ministry of External Affairs has informed the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Russia about the attack. The strikes have also affected air travel in northern India.
