Kunjang Tshopel Sherpa has become the first female officer of the Nepal Police to scale Sagarmatha, the world’s highest peak. On May 19, the assistant sub-inspector and karateka scaled the 8848.86-meter peak with the slogan: "UNITE to End Violence against Women and Girls" after climbing the Lobuche as part of her preparations for the Sagarmatha expedition with Glacier Himalaya Treks & Expeditions as the organizer.
 

Meanwhile, in recognition of her feat, Nepal Police has promoted Sherpa, who is with the Cyber Bureau of the police force, to the rank of sub-inspector.
