Hearing on Habeas Corpus Plea for Rabi Lamichhane Wrapped Up

The legal team of Rabi Lamichhane, accused of involvement in a series of cooperative scams in the capacity of the then managing director of Gorkha Media Pvt Ltd, has wrapped up its arguments in a habeas corpus petition seeking his release. 

On behalf of Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and a former Minister for Home Affairs, senior advocate Raman Shrestha had begun pleading at the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Now, the court is busy hearing the argument seeking the release of another accused in the case, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi. While senior advocate Shambhu Thapa has wrapped up his argument seeking the latter’s release, another advocate is set to put forth his arguments before the bench of justices Nahakul Suvedi and Balkrishna Dhakal.
