Four Parliamentary Committees to Delve Into Key Issues Today

Four parliamentary committees are set to meet at the Federal Parliament today, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

The Finance Committee, Public Accounts Committee, Committee on Development and Economic Affairs, and the Committee on Federalism Enablement and National Concern are all holding sessions.

The Finance Committee will meet at 11:00 am to discuss the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Representatives from the National Planning Commission, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries will be part of the discussion.

At the same time, the Public Accounts Committee will meet to review complaints it has received.

The Committee on Federalism Enablement and National Concern, part of the National Assembly, will meet at 11:30 am. Its agenda includes discussing the Appropriation Bill for the fiscal year 2025-26, with input from officials of the Ministry of Finance, National Planning Commission, and National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.

The committee will also talk about disaster management, including prevention, response and recovery efforts. They will discuss plans for preparing for disasters and future actions to improve the situation.
