Home Minister Says Police Followed Law in Resham Chaudhary’s Arrest, Apologizes for Trouble

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that the recent arrest of Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) patron Resham Chaudhary was done legally and without any political motive.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Thursday, Minister Lekhak explained that the Nepal Police only followed the court’s instructions and did not act with any bias. “Just like always, the police acted as per legal orders,” he said.

He also expressed regret over the trouble caused to Resham Chaudhary and his family. “I apologize for the inconvenience and emotional distress caused to Chaudhary and his loved ones,” Lekhak said, adding that efforts will be made to ensure such incidents do not happen again.

He urged everyone to stay alert and work together to prevent similar issues in the future.
