Several rural roads in Udayapur district have been blocked after continuous rainfall on Saturday, causing major disruptions in travel and transport.
The road from Gaighat, the district headquarters, to Rauta has been blocked. Similarly, other key rural routes such as Rauta-Salle, Rauta-Bhutar, and roads in the Pambu area — including Rauta-Namanta, Rauta-Aaptar, Nametar-Okhreni, and Rametar-Bhadaure — are also impassable, according to local resident Dilliram Magar.
The road to Majhkharka via Rauta-Murkuchi and Dilli Bar has suffered damage in multiple places, with potholes and flood damage making it unsafe for use.
Locals reported that rain fell continuously for over three hours. Ganga Ghalemgar from Dumre mentioned that the Bhalayadanda-Barre and Dumre-Udayapurgadhi roads have also collapsed due to the heavy rain.
Additionally, the road connecting Mainamaini from Kothu in Belka Municipality-8 has caved in and is currently closed to traffic.
Authorities and locals are calling for immediate repair and support to restore access in the affected areas.
