The government is set to present five ordinances in the National Assembly today (Thursday) after getting support from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP).

However, the controversial land ordinance is not on the agenda this time.

These ordinances, which were supposed to be presented earlier, were delayed because three members were absent from the National Assembly. The government has now decided to move forward with the process after political discussions.

The government aims to pass ordinances to change some laws in Nepal related to improving governance and public services, amending financial procedures and fiscal responsibility, privatization, improving the economic and business environment to attract more investment, and a new ordinance on cooperatives issued on December 29, 2024.
