The government has announced a three-day public holiday from March 4 to 6 (Falgun 20–22) to facilitate voter participation in the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 (Falgun 21).
The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, following a recommendation from the Election Commission of Nepal, which urged the government to declare public holidays to ensure maximum voter turnout across the country.
The move aims to allow citizens to cast their votes without work-related constraints and to promote broader electoral engagement.
