Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader Balen Shah has stated that the current situation, where opening and running a new factory requires appeasing at least ten politicians, must end.
Addressing the “We Have Come” change declaration program organized by RSP in Itahari on Tuesday, he highlighted that the area, home to the country’s first industrial factories, still faces difficulties in starting new factories due to political interference.
He said, “This is the area of the country’s first industrial factories, with factories producing cooking oil and spices. But since their opening, no new factories have started. To open a new factory, you have to appease ten politicians and convince employees. Only then can a factory run, and once it runs, chaos begins. That will no longer happen. RSP wants to end this.”
Shah also criticized the lack of football infrastructure, despite 60–70% of Nepalese football players coming from eastern Nepal. He emphasized that proper facilities like playgrounds and stadiums are essential to nurture talent.
“60–70% of Nepal’s football players come from the east. But we have failed to build playgrounds or stadiums to produce them. A good football player must practice at least 10,000 hours. RSP will ensure this so we can produce players,” he said.
Shah further added that, just as Silam Sakma saved people from fire, he is committed to safeguarding the country. He also pledged to increase domestic production to provide food for Nepali citizens.
