The Nepali Congress has pledged Rs 500,000 to support the medical treatment of national women’s football team captain Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’.
Vice President Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the party informed ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang about the contribution to the treatment fund. He wished the star forward a speedy recovery and urged everyone to stand by her.
Samba had recently appealed for help through social media, prompting support from various quarters. Kathmandu Medical College has offered free treatment in Nepal, while former ANFA President Ganesh Thapa announced a Rs 50,000 contribution.
