In the eastern part of Rautahat, Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality has started free ultrasound services for pregnant women.
With the special effort of Municipality Chief Shambhu Singh, health workers are visiting different wards to provide free ultrasound and health check-ups for pregnant women. Under the "Rural Ultrasound Program," video X-ray services are now available for all pregnant women in the municipality.
Chief Singh said this program will help pregnant women check their baby's health from home, so they don’t have to travel to the regional hospital in Gaur or other places. Municipality Health Coordinator Dinesh Mahato added that this makes it easier to monitor the health of both the mother and the baby.
The program started on Saturday in Badaharwa village, Ward No. 5, Bagmati Pari. By Sunday, 45 pregnant women had already received the service.
