Lucky Chaudhary has become the central president of the Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Journalists. Chaudhary got elected unopposed after another contestant for the position, Amardhwoj Lama, withdrew his candidacy during the eighth federal convention of the journalists’ body held in Bhairahawa.
The convention has elected Saru Rana Magar as senior vice-president (unopposed), Gajendra Rai as coordinator of the accounts committee as well as in-charge of Province 1 and Rajendra Gurung as in-charge of Lumbini province.
Vishwaraj Tamang was elected vice president, Arjun Tamang treasurer and Milan Gaha, MB Magar and Sandip Shrestha were elected secretaries under the open category, while Maya Palung was elected secretary (women category).
Additionally, FONIJ has formed a 49-member working committee that includes 15 office-bearers.
