Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that the country is now heading towards stability, development, and good governance after the formation of a government with the participation of major parties.
Speaking at a public awareness event organized by the UML’s Jhapa District Committee in Damak, Oli criticized those who, in the name of development, only create drama. He said, “Some people try to run politics like driving a car without learning how to drive. But the public hasn’t trusted their chaos and stone-throwing politics.”
He added, “Now the country will move ahead according to law and rules. People who looted banks, committed arson, and tried to revive the monarchy have been rejected by the public. Just shouting big slogans doesn't develop a country. Their true face was exposed during the violent event at Tinkune on March 28.”
Oli blamed internal party conflicts and misuse of the court for removing him from power during his previous term. “Despite all that, we returned to government with the people’s support,” he said.
He assured that the current government is committed to stability and development. “Don’t be misled by those who want instability,” he said.
Oli shared that construction works and unfinished projects will now continue. The upcoming budget and plans will focus on agriculture modernization, entrepreneurship, and solving problems faced by landless people. He said, “We’ve already introduced five important ordinances. A new land law will come soon. Everyone, including the private sector, supports it. The economy, which was struggling, is now improving.”
He said a new law for landless squatters will be introduced at the beginning of the next Parliament session. “We will work to free the country from poverty and achieve the goal of prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali.”
Oli said the UML is the future of Nepal. “Those dreaming of Nepal without UML are dreaming against the country. If UML fails, the country fails,” he claimed.
Talking about Koshi Province, he said it is a diverse and aware province, and the UML committees there should work actively and reach out to every household and person.
He also emphasized the importance of youth, saying the government is creating opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship in Nepal. He announced that UML will organize a Youth Festival on Kathmandu on Baishakh 11 (April 23) to mark the Democracy Day, and called on all youths under 40 to join the event.
“This program is our answer to those who say UML has no young people. I challenge any other party to gather this many youths,” he said. “Young people must work for the country while also taking care of their jobs and families.”
