Dalit Activist Khagendra Sunar Arrested During Parliament Protest

Dalit activist Khagendra Sunar, who has been protesting for months, was arrested on Monday afternoon. He was detained while trying to enter the Parliament building to demand justice for an inter-caste couple, Satyendra Ram and Neha Rouniyar.

The Kathmandu District Police said Sunar was arrested for attempting to enter the Parliament while wearing a chain around his neck. He is currently being held at the New Baneshwar police station. Authorities said he was taken into custody for trying to enter a restricted area.

Earlier, Sunar had also protested at Maitighar, chaining his legs to demand rights for Dalits.
