Four new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Sudurpaschim Province in the last 24 hours. All the infected are men who recently returned from India, according to provincial health officials.
Hemraj Joshi, the Covid contact person at the Sudurpaschim Health Directorate, said the cases were found during routine antigen testing at border checkpoints. Three were detected at Trinagar and one at Jhuleghat.
“The infected individuals are from Kanchanpur, Achham, and Bajhang districts,” Joshi said. “They tested positive through antigen tests and have been asked to stay in home isolation.”
This comes after five cases were found on Friday, one on Thursday, and three on Wednesday, showing a slow but steady rise in infections.
In response, the Department of Health Services has instructed hospitals, health offices, and labs to stay alert, warning that the virus could spread again.
Authorities are urging people to be cautious, especially with frequent travel across the open border with India.
