Cloudy Weather Across Nepal, Light Rain Likely in Several Provinces

Nepal is currently affected by a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region.

Because of this, the sky is mostly cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Other hilly areas are partly cloudy. Some Terai areas are also experiencing fog, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Division has predicted light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces this afternoon. There is also a chance of light rain in one or two places of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

In the Kathmandu Valley, the weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with a possibility of light rain during the day.

At night, light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places of Bagmati province and the Terai region of Koshi province. Fog is also likely in some Terai areas.
