Marking the Chhath festival, CPN (Maoist Center) leader and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called for strengthening mutual respect, harmony, and cooperation among progressive forces to build a just and prosperous Nepal.
Extending his best wishes to Nepalis celebrating the festival at home and abroad, Dahal said Chhath embodies self-confidence, patience, and optimism, values that are especially important during the nation’s current political, economic, and social challenges.
He expressed hope that the festival would “illuminate the darkness within nature and humanity,” bringing peace, purity, and positive energy to everyone. Dahal also wished for a new era of peace, stability, and prosperity in the country.
Observed mainly in the Madhesh-Terai region, Chhath is deeply connected to Nepal’s culture, labor, and environment, promoting harmony between humans and nature and reminding people of the importance of coexistence and balance.
