BJP’s Rekha Gupta to Take Oath as Delhi Chief Minister Today

Rekha Gupta, the member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been appointed as the Chief Minister of New Delhi, the capital city of India. Rekha Gupta has been chosen for the position during a meeting of the BJP's Delhi Assembly Parliamentary Party held last evening.

Prior to this, Om Prakash Dhankar was assigned as the supervisor to select a party leader through the meeting. This marks BJP’s return to power in Delhi after 27 years.

The oath-taking gathering of the newly appointed Chief Minister is set to be conducted at Ramlila Maidan. Along with Rekha Gupta, some of the other aspirants include Prabesh Barma, Shikha Roy, Bijendra Gupta, Aashish Sood, and Satish Upadhyay.

Rekha Gupta won the position from Shalimar Bagh. In the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP secured 48 out of 70 seats, reclaiming power. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has expressed his full support for the new Chief Minister in working towards the development of Delhi, according to Indian media reports.
