The chief whip of the CPN-UML, Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, said that political leadership should not give statements that lead to division within society.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Friday, he emphasized the need for political leadership to always send positive messages to society.
He said that the expressions, behavior, and working styles of leaders seem to be heading toward creating a divisive environment in society.
Bartaula specifically urged the Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, not to make statements that could create irreparable divides in the future. He noted that positions are temporary, and what is permanent is maintaining tolerance and focusing on the country and people while moving forward.
He emphasized the importance of moving forward with the understanding that there may be future encounters.
