Bus Accident in Baitadi Kills 13, Dozens Injured

Tragedy struck in Baitadi as a bus carrying wedding attendees crashed at Badgaun Mode, Purchaidi-7, on Thursday, claiming the lives of 13 people. Eight died on the spot, while five others succumbed to injuries at Dadeldhura Hospital.

The Bajhang-bound bus (Province 02 001 Kha 1119) was traveling from Bhawane, Purchaidi Municipality-7, when it met with the accident.

Those killed on the spot include:

• Keshav Raj Joshi (40), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Ashok Raj Joshi (13), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Basanta Joshi (35), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Bisna Dutta Joshi (41), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Mohan Dev Bhatta (60), Kedarsyu, Bajhang

• Basanta Raj Ratala (40), Jayaprithvi Municipality, Bajhang

• Pushpa Awasthi (40), Purchaidi-7, Baitadi

• One unidentified person

Those who died later at Dadeldhura Hospital include:

• Bisna Dutta Joshi (17), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Deepk Raj Joshi (28), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Kisana Dutta Joshi (46), Bitthadchir-7, Bajhang

• Keshav Raj Bhatta (27), Kedarsyu-7, Bajhang

• Sushil Joshi (15), Purchaidi-7, Baitadi

Thirty-four others injured in the accident are receiving treatment at hospitals in Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, and Bajhang. Authorities confirmed that the bride and groom were not on board the bus.
