A lawmaker from the CPN (Maoist Center) has demanded the immediate arrest of the former king, Gyanendra Shah, accusing the latter of micro-managing the March 28 mayhem at Tinkune.
Speaking at the zero hour of the National Assembly on Sunday, Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar, the Maoist lawmaker, said: The government should have arrested Gyanendra Shah right after the protest. Why has the government been dilly-dallying?
Lawmaker Sundar demanded that the former king be brought under the purview of law vis-a-vis the March 28 protest of pro-royalist forces in Tinkune and Koteshwor. A journalist and a transport worker had lost their lives amid incidents of arson, looting, vandalism and the use of the state’s brute force on that day.
