The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has expressed serious concern over the lockout at its central office on Falgun 24.
Issuing a statement on Monday, ANFA said the lockout at its headquarters in Satdobato was carried out unexpectedly by the Nepal Football Players Association on a public holiday without any prior notice or dialogue.
ANFA stated that continuous discussions are ongoing with participating clubs and players regarding the organization of the A Division League. It also clarified that preparations are underway to start the league one month after the completion of the National League.
The association noted that regular dialogue and coordination among ANFA, clubs, and the players’ association had already led to the successful completion of the National League according to schedule. However, it said the ongoing lockout has disrupted daily administrative activities, making it difficult to implement agreements and demands during this period.
ANFA also reaffirmed its commitment to deposit part of the ticket revenue from the final match of the International Women’s Championship Football Tournament into the players’ welfare fund.
Regarding players’ rewards, salaries, and allowances, ANFA stated that the current executive committee has already paid the announced prizes and has begun the process of gradually settling unpaid rewards left by previous committees through internal resources.
