Nepal has confirmed its second case of monkeypox, with a 35-year-old man recently returning from Saudi Arabia testing positive for the virus.

A case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Nepal. A 34 Year old Nepali man who returned from Saudi Arabia has been diagnosed with the virus and is being treated at Teku Hospital. His condition is stable.
This is the first case of monkeypox in a Nepali, though a foreign woman was previously diagnosed in June. The Ministry of Health is tracing people who may have been in contact with the patient.
Monkeypox is a virus related to smallpox, but it's usually less severe and rarely fatal. It spreads through saliva droplets, direct skin contact, and touching the eyes or mouth of an infected person. People who are close to the infected person are most at risk.
