A 30-year-old man from Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-5 in Dhading has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother. Police identified the suspect as Yam Bahadur Kandel Jire, who is accused of murdering his 55-year-old mother, Rammaya Kandel, with a sharp weapon on Sunday night.

 

According to SP Bheshraj Rizal of Dhading Police, the suspect was taken into custody along with the weapon at the crime scene, and further investigation and legal procedures are underway.

 

Yam Bahadur gained widespread attention after appearing in viral videos of the Gen-Z protests on Bhadra 23 and 24, where he was seen confronting security personnel with strong statements that circulated widely on social media. 

 

Authorities are investigating the case thoroughly and have confirmed the arrest in connection with the alleged matricide.
