UML leader Yogesh Bhattarai has hit back at opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" for his recent criticism of the government, saying it’s wrong to blame others while ignoring one’s own faults.
Speaking in Parliament, Bhattarai said, “Don’t throw stones at others while living in a glass house,” referring to Prachanda’s repeated claims that the current government is unnatural and influenced by interest groups and middlemen.
Bhattarai questioned how a government formed under the same constitutional rule (Article 76) could be "natural" when led by Prachanda but "unconstitutional" when led by UML’s KP Oli.
He also asked the opposition not to criticize the newly built view tower in Damak, Jhapa, as if it were some kind of crime, and not to mock it in songs.
Bhattarai further spoke against the opposition's strong reaction to the removal of the Nepal Electricity Authority’s executive director. “It’s just one official being transferred. Why act like it’s the end of the world?” he said.
He also disapproved of Prachanda’s statement encouraging teachers to stay on the streets during their protests, saying such remarks don’t help in resolving issues.
