Western Low-Pressure System Brings Rain, Snow and Fog Across Nepal

Nepal is currently affected by a western low-pressure system, causing changes in the weather across the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain and snowfall are happening in some hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There may also be light rain in other hilly and mountain regions.

Some Terai areas are likely to see fog in the morning and afternoon. The hilly and mountain areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are mostly cloudy. There is a chance of thunderstorms, lightning, and light rain or snowfall in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, and in one or two places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, fog may return to some Terai areas. Light rain or snowfall is possible in the high hills and mountains of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki. The Terai region is expected to stay mostly clear, while other hilly areas will be partly to mostly cloudy.

The Department has asked people, travelers, and those working outdoors to be careful in areas where there is fog, rain, snow, or thunderstorms.
