The CPN (Unified Socialist) is preparing for an important Secretariat meeting scheduled for June 27 at its central office in Aloknagar, where senior leaders will sit down to chart the party’s direction on several key national and internal issues.

Damodar Aryal, deputy chief of the party’s publicity department, said the meeting will focus on the party’s official position regarding the newly announced national budget. With the budget already stirring debates across political lines, the Unified Socialist is expected to outline its stance clearly, especially as the parliamentary session moves forward.

Beyond the budget, the meeting will also touch on internal matters. Leaders are expected to discuss political training for party cadres, finalize departmental leadership based on suggestions from the grassroots, and address some unresolved internal conflicts. Organizational restructuring and leadership reshuffles may also be part of the conversation, as the party seeks to strengthen its foundation ahead of upcoming political challenges.

A sensitive issue expected to dominate the discussions is the corruption case filed by the CIAA against party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal. The party will likely craft a defense strategy and assess the political implications of the case, which involves a controversial land deal linked to Patanjali.

Additionally, leaders will review recent political developments and evaluate the effectiveness of the party’s nationwide campaign. Following this review, the party is expected to roll out a new phase of organizational outreach to boost its presence on the ground.
