The CPN-UML has announced that it plans to increase its membership to 750,000 by its upcoming statute convention.
Party's Organization Department Secretary Madhav Dhungel said that this year has been declared as the "Year of Internal Party Life," and the party aims to have members equal to 6% of the total voters by the convention.
According to him, party membership data must be sent to the provincial committees within this month (Baisakh). He said, “We have instructed district committees to complete new membership and renewal work within Baisakh and submit it to the provincial committees. Then, the provincial committees must send the membership details to the central office by the first week of Jestha.”
Secretary Dhungel shared that the party currently has 550,000 members. “Our target is to reach 750,000 members by the upcoming statute convention,” he added. The convention is scheduled to take place from Bhadra 20 to 22.
