As political uncertainty deepens, lawmakers from major parties have begun mobilizing for the reinstatement of the dissolved House of Representatives. Nepali Congress lawmakers have started a signature campaign, urging party leadership to officially declare support for restoring the Parliament. Former chief whip Shyam Prasad Ghimire said the initiative aims to push the party to take both political and legal steps, as the Congress had earlier termed the dissolution “unconstitutional and undemocratic.”

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML has called a meeting of its dissolved parliamentary party on Mangsir 2 at its Chyasal headquarters to discuss the situation. UML chief whip Mahesh Bartaula stated that the meeting will focus on finding democratic and constitutional ways to resolve the crisis.

The UML has already declared the dissolution unconstitutional and announced plans for a national movement demanding the House’s reinstatement. According to Bartaula, the party’s decision is institutional, meaning there is no need for individual signatures. He added that 79 UML lawmakers have already endorsed the campaign to restore Parliament.

With the UML intensifying its street protests and the Congress showing growing internal support, momentum appears to be building for a coordinated political movement pushing for House reinstatement and constitutional accountability.
